Greenville 2010 Green Building and Solar TourThe Greenville 2010 Green Building and Solar Tour will be held on October 9th, 2010 from 10 am – 3pm. This year’s tour focuses on energy efficiency, building science, and renewable energy, and will also feature four residential projects – one built with insulated concrete forms, one NAHB Certified Green Homes and Energy Star (one of which has thermal solar), and one new construction garage with a 5.16Kw photovoltaic solar system generating enough power to the adjacent home to make it close to a net zero carbon footprint. |

Cypress Group of the Sierra ClubSince 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. The North Carolina Chapter, Cypress Group, represents the interests of over 1,000 Sierra Club members in 23 counties of Northeastern North Carolina. We regularly schedule Service Projects and Outings designed for environmental education. Our meetings are held the second Monday of each month from September through May at 7:30 PM at the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Greenville, NC. The U-U Church is located at 131 Oakmont Drive, off of Charles Street and across Oakmont Drive from Golds Gym. All programs and activities of the Cypress Group are open to the public and you need not be a member to attend. |
